Overview

Owns the fabrication of composite parts in a fast paced aerospace setting for air dominance programs. Works with the build team to interpret blueprints and lay up, bond and finish components. Collaborates with engineering to improve processes and ensure quality and safety.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build lay-up and assembly set-ups for composite structures
  • 2Assemble, lay up, or support detachment via autoclave and other processes
  • 3Identify nonconforming parts and processes and coordinate with engineering
  • 4Prepare surface treatments and apply adhesives and bonding methods per specs
  • 5Set up and verify ply locations using station lines and EOP references
  • 6Finish components by bonding, sealing, cementing, and riveting to engineering specs
  • 7Ensure FOD control and composite bonding best practices
  • 8Prepare tooling with release agents and maintain tooling quality
  • 9Coordinate with manufacturing to meet cycle times and production targets
  • 10Assist in setup and operation of GFM ply cutter and automated fiber placement

Requirements6

  • 1High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 2Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • 3Related experience in composites or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4Experience interpreting blueprints, sketches and instructions in English
  • 5Availability to work any shift
  • 6Active Secret Clearance (preferred)
