Equipment Operator I, Heavy Equipment & Compost Operations
Overview
Heavy Equipment Operator will safely operate loaders and trucks at scale to manufacture compost and soil amendments. They will work on a Tampa Bay area site, following safety protocols and quality standards. You will join a team focused on reliable operations, on-site maintenance, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do9
- 1Build and operate heavy equipment to move products and feed shredders grinders and screens to meet production targets
- 2Drive daily production reporting and ensure accurate data entry for yield and materials
- 3Load products onto roll off containers or walking floor trailers safely and efficiently
- 4Perform daily equipment safety checks and basic maintenance to minimize downtime
- 5Maintain a clean organized work area and comply with all safety policies and procedures
- 6Collaborate with drivers operators and coworkers to maintain productive workflows
- 7Participate in trainings to increase skills and service quality
- 8Identify and report safety hazards and equipment issues to leadership
- 9Support other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors or managers
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 2State issued driver’s license
- 3OSHA 10 or higher certificate preferred
- 4One year or more of related heavy equipment operating experience preferred
- 5Experience in the compost industry preferred
- 6Ability to operate equipment with precision for loading lifting and transporting materials
- 7Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform minor maintenance
- 8Knowledge of load capacities center of gravity and safe lifting techniques
- 9Strong situational awareness to operate safely near workers vehicles and obstacles
- 10Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with assistance
