Mobile Equipment Operator, 2nd Shift Recycling
Overview
You will operate Forklifts and Skid Steers to move materials and load trailers at a high-volume recycling plant. You will join a safety-first team that values mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance. This role stands out for its focus on preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, not just operation. You will work the 2nd shift (3 PM to 12 AM) with extended hours as needed.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate Forklifts and Skid Steers to load/unload materials from trailers and move loose materials within the plant.
- 2Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, including preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure safe working order.
- 3Document inventory and activity, recording quantities and weights of materials.
- 4Troubleshoot and report mechanical or operational issues on mobile and stationary equipment.
- 5Execute basic mechanical maintenance and minor repairs such as greasing, belt checks, fluid levels, and adjustments.
- 6Adhere to all plant safety guidelines, including OSHA policies, during every operation.
- 7Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to support equipment uptime and safe operation.
- 8Maintain general plant housekeeping to ensure a clean and hazard-free work area.
Requirements8
- 12+ years experience operating Forklifts, Skid Steers, or similar mobile equipment.
- 2Proficient in safe and effective operation of Forklift and/or Skid Steer.
- 3Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving equipment issues.
- 4Ability to perform or assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs using basic hand tools.
- 5High safety awareness and strict adherence to OSHA and company policies.
- 6Comfort working in a loud industrial or recycling environment.
- 7Willingness to learn additional mechanical skills through on-the-job training.
- 8Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and maintain concentration for extended periods.
