Pellet Mill Operator, 2nd Shift Manufacturing
Overview
You own daily production of the pellet mill and automated equipment, plus data recording and inventory control. Working 2nd shift (4pm-2:30am), you troubleshoot mechanical issues, adjust tooling and speeds, and lead your crew. This role combines hands-on mechanics with supervisory duties, and you'll coordinate across shifts via email and logbook.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate pellet mill and automated equipment to meet daily production targets.
- 2Adjust tooling, production speeds, and wood grinding equipment manually to optimize output.
- 3Record production data accurately and maintain raw material and finished goods inventory.
- 4Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform on-shift maintenance to keep systems running.
- 5Prepare equipment for scheduled maintenance and gather process data for handoff.
- 6Lead production team meetings and communicate company objectives to your crew.
- 7Enforce company safety policies and ensure all personnel wear required PPE.
- 8Maintain a clean and orderly plant, modeling good housekeeping habits.
Requirements8
- 11+ year forklift experience (preferred).
- 21+ year supervisory experience (preferred).
- 31+ year machine operator experience (preferred).
- 4Strong mechanical background with large industrial equipment, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
- 5Ability to read and interpret production data sheets and logs.
- 6Proficiency with email and logbook communication for shift handoffs.
- 7Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and PPE requirements.
- 8Physical ability to stand, lift, and work in a manufacturing environment.
