Overview
This is a remote, part-time consulting role for an epidemiologist to support expert human-evaluation work for a biotech and pharma research team. You'll help build and refine rubrics that assess commercial drugs and drug-development programs, with a focus on patient-population sizing. The initial engagement is a paid pilot of about 10–20 hours, with the opportunity for recurring work if your contributions are strong. What You'll Do4
- 1Develop and review evaluation rubrics for commercial drugs and drug-development initiatives.
- 2Estimate the eligible patient population for a drug or indication, covering prevalence, incidence, and the progression from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.
- 3Assess the accuracy and sourcing of patient-population estimates, identifying any over- or under-counting.
- 4Apply your methodology across the pilot's portfolio of drugs and indications.
Requirements4
- 1Based in the US with a background in epidemiology.
- 2Understanding of biotech and pharmaceutical development processes.
- 3Proven ability to convert real-world data sources—such as claims, electronic health records, and patient registries—into actionable patient-funnel estimates.
- 4At least five years of professional experience in epidemiology, backed by a graduate degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health.
