Environmental Field Technician, EHS Inspections & Testing
Overview
You will conduct environmental inspections and sampling for microbial, lead, asbestos, and industrial hygiene projects in the Boston area. You will join a global team of forensic experts at EFI Global, collaborating with senior technicians on complex cases. You will document findings, prepare reports, and support insurance industry clients. This role offers hands-on field experience and certification growth in environmental consulting.
What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct microbial, lead, asbestos, and industrial hygiene inspections and sampling using ASTM standards.
- 2Prepare chain of custody forms for analytical testing and record survey data on approved forms.
- 3Document temperature, relative humidity, and moisture content measurements with detailed notes and photographs.
- 4Prepare inspection reports based on scientific findings and project scope per EPA guidelines.
- 5Partner with senior field technicians on complex environmental cases.
- 6Promote company investigative services to the insurance industry within your territory.
- 7Assist and observe contractor work on projects, interacting with clients and contractors.
- 8Maintain billable hours and accurate time and expense records for client services.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma and 2+ years of related experience or equivalent combination.
- 2Associates degree in Environmental Science, Microbiology, or Industrial Hygiene preferred.
- 3Current AHERA Inspector license, EPA Inspector license, or OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.
- 4Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- 5Knowledge of current industry standards for environmental health and safety services.
- 6Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- 7PC literacy including Microsoft Office products.
- 8Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
- 9Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and drive up to 4 hours per day.
