Entry Level Electrical Engineer, Building Systems Design
Overview
As an Entry Level Electrical Engineer at Wold Architects and Engineers, you will support the design of electrical systems for multi-million dollar public sector projects, working under the supervision of a licensed P.E.. You will collaborate with architects, interior designers, and mechanical engineers on integrated teams, from concept through construction. Your work will include electrical distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, and security systems, with a focus on improving building energy performance. This role offers a direct mentorship relationship with a senior engineer and hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design electrical distribution, lighting, and control systems for commercial and public buildings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- 2Collaborate with architects and mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
- 3Perform load calculations and voltage drop analysis to ensure system safety and efficiency.
- 4Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- 5Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to select appropriate electrical equipment and materials.
- 6Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and present design solutions.
- 7Conduct site visits to observe installations and support field verification during construction.
- 8Contribute to energy modeling and sustainability initiatives for high-performance buildings.
Requirements5
- 14-year engineering degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 20-3 years of experience in electrical design or engineering internships.
- 3Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred.
- 4Strong organizational, written, and presentation skills.
- 5Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Salary Insight
$70 - $80k per year
