Electrical or Mechanical Engineer, Power Systems & Design
Overview
You will own engineering design for facility and infrastructure projects at CSA Group, serving clients across Florida. You will work under supervision to deliver electrical power systems or mechanical and plumbing designs, from concept through construction. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and drafters in a diverse, growth-oriented environment. What You'll Do9
- 1Perform engineering design services of moderate difficulty under supervision, focusing on electrical power systems or mechanical and plumbing systems.
- 2Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and gather data that informs design decisions.
- 3Prepare conceptual design alternatives that meet client needs and project constraints.
- 4Design and prepare engineering drawings for discipline-specific or multi-trade projects using AutoCAD and Revit.
- 5Prepare outline and final specifications for construction documents.
- 6Develop and verify cost estimates and quantities at all design phases to ensure budget alignment.
- 7Participate in design reviews and revise documents based on feedback from stakeholders.
- 8Support bid, award, and construction phases by reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.
- 9Perform design reviews of documents prepared by others to ensure quality and compliance.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of experience in design of electrical power systems, service room layout, site lighting & security, load calculations, fire alarm systems, layer access control, building information systems, communication antennas and lighting systems.
- 2Alternatively, 5+ years of relevant experience in design of mechanical and plumbing projects, including boiler, gas riser, roof tank, underground steam, and water distribution systems.
- 3Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 4Engineer-In-Training License or Professional Engineer License preferred.
- 5Familiarity with Florida engineering design standards, codes, and industry standards of practice.
- 6Understanding of Contract Documents for Engineering and administration during the construction phase.
- 7Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication abilities in graphics and writing.
- 8Project management experience and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- 9Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is mandatory; Revit and e-Builder experience is desirable.
- 10Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI, with a commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption.
