What You'll Do10
- 1Design electrical power distribution systems for Gas Turbine auxiliary equipment focusing on low-voltage systems
- 2Develop single-line diagrams panelboard schedules electrical load lists motor lists wiring diagrams control schematics cable schedules termination schedules
- 3Create power system plans lighting plans electrical room layouts elevation drawings conduit cable tray arrangements hazardous area classifications
- 4Perform equipment sizing calculations cable conduit spacing illumination levels maintaining BOMs and design documentation
- 5Review wiring diagrams cable lists using SmartPlant Electrical SmartPlant Instrumentation SmartPlant 3D
- 6Assist in preparing purchase specifications selecting vendors for electrical equipment
- 7Generate electrical drawing packages documenting logic wiring system interactions applying NEC NFPA 70 CEC IEC ISA standards
- 8Investigate electrical codes ensure project compliance respond technical inquiries from clients vendors field personnel
- 9Maintain project schedules support manufacturing commissioning mentor junior engineers and interns
- 10Travel up to 10 percent for project requirements
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2Minimum three years industrial power distribution design experience up to 600VAC 220DC preferred
- 3Strong knowledge of electrical codes including NFPA 70
- 4Experience with SmartPlant Electrical SmartPlant Instrumentation SmartPlant 3D software
- 5Familiarity with generators 150 MVA and above gas or steam turbine power plants
- 6Ability to interpret electrical standards develop design documentation communicate with stakeholders
- 7Inclination toward computer programming languages
- 8Travel availability up to 10 percent
