Senior Electrical Engineer, MEP & High-Rise Design
Overview
You will lead electrical design for high-profile commercial, residential, and high-rise projects across South Florida, from concept through construction administration. You will drive the full project lifecycle, coordinating with architects, contractors, and internal teams while ensuring code compliance with NEC and Florida Building Code. You will mentor a team of engineers and designers, shaping technical standards and delivering complex building systems. What You'll Do8
- 1Lead electrical design projects from concept through construction administration, ensuring timely delivery and code compliance.
- 2Design power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems using Revit and AutoCAD.
- 3Perform electrical load calculations and prepare construction documents, specifications, and permit drawings for high-rise and mixed-use buildings.
- 4Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to resolve clashes and optimize system integration.
- 5Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication, maintaining quality standards throughout execution.
- 6Review technical drawings and implement QA/QC processes to meet NEC and Florida Building Code standards.
- 7Mentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical leadership and fostering professional growth.
- 8Collaborate directly with clients, contractors, and architects to align designs with project goals and constraints.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 2Active Professional Engineer (PE) license, Florida preferred.
- 37+ years of electrical design experience in an MEP consulting environment.
- 4Strong experience designing commercial building electrical systems.
- 5Advanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- 6Experience with power distribution, lighting design, load calculations, and construction documents.
- 7Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable electrical codes.
- 8Excellent communication and project management skills.
- 9Full-time on-site work in Fort Lauderdale.
