Overview
Design Engineer creates electrical distribution designs and conducts field inspections. This role combines office engineering with site visits to ensure compliance and quality.
What You'll Do11
- 1Develop design and construction packages for overhead and underground distribution systems from 4kV to 138kV
- 2Ensure designs meet safety and quality standards
- 3Travel to project sites for inspections and data collection
- 4Perform engineering calculations for structural analysis and voltage drop
- 5Prepare permitting documents for Authorities Having Jurisdiction
- 6Provide engineering support during construction phases
- 7Conduct post-construction reviews to verify standards
- 8Analyze outages using engineering principles to develop solutions
- 9Collaborate with internal teams and clients in meetings
- 10Manage assigned work effectively while meeting deadlines
- 11Contribute to fast-paced project environment
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Civil Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 2Ability to lead engineering team and own complex design work
- 3Strong client interaction skills
- 4Proficiency in power distribution concepts
- 5Experience with GIS utilities and engineering design tools
- 6EIT certification preferred
- 7Prior power distribution or electrical utility design experience
- 8Willingness to travel for field inspections
- 9Commitment to long-term career growth in engineering
- 10Interest in leadership development opportunities
- 11Basic knowledge of AWS Spark Airflow
