Entree Cook, Food Service & Patient Nutrition Support
Overview
This role owns cooking cafeteria and catering meals for diverse diets at scale across a hospital setting. You will work with a team of food service professionals to prepare entrees, vegetables, sauces, soups, and patient meals while ensuring safety and quality standards. You will manage equipment, temperature logs, and daily production plans in a onsite, hospital environment. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and prepare entrees, vegetables, starches, sauces and soups
- 2Cook items using ovens, grills, steamers, and specialized kitchen equipment
- 3Inspect and maintain equipment and utensils for safe operation
- 4Document temperature checks and log results for food safety
- 5Plan production schedules and adjust for census and patient needs
- 6Serve meals on patient tray lines and assist other staff as needed
- 7Requisition additional items and verify stock against forecasts
- 8Maintain sanitary standards throughout food preparation and service
- 9Review forecast tallies and adapt production for daily needs
- 10Ensure quality, freshness, taste and appearance of all dishes
Requirements5
- 1Less than High School Required
- 2Technical Training Diploma/Degree or Vocational training preferred
- 3Food Handlers Card certification required upon hire
- 4Driver license required or preferred
- 5Experience in food service within healthcare or institutional settings preferred
