Overview

You will assemble custom computers and cable harnesses for autonomous vehicles, owning the build process from prototype to production. This role spans mechanical assembly, 3D printing, and PCB line operations. You will work with the mechanical and electrical engineering teams to refine designs. You will help scale Atoms' manufacturing for real-world Physical AI deployments.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Assemble custom computers for autonomous vehicles, ensuring each unit meets spec.
  • 2Build prototype cable harnesses and mechanical assemblies for early-stage robots.
  • 3Run and maintain 3D printers, producing parts for prototypes and production runs.
  • 4Operate the PCB assembly line, including soldering and inspection (training provided).
  • 5Load software and firmware onto custom devices using Linux command line tools.
  • 6QC incoming electrical and mechanical parts, documenting defects and reporting to engineering.
  • 7Maintain the shop space, keeping tools organized and equipment calibrated.
  • 8Package kits for customer sites, coordinating with the operations team on shipments.
  • 9Monitor finished product quality and flag assembly or design issues to the engineering team.

Requirements8

  • 11-2 years (mid) or 5+ years (senior) in hardware assembly or fabrication.
  • 2Experience with wire harness assembly and crimping tools.
  • 3Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
  • 4Comfort with Linux command line and basic scripting.
  • 5Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • 6Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • 7Excellent communication skills with Google Suite and Excel proficiency.
  • 8Action-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in an unstructured environment.
