Emergency Management Coordinator Rice Engineering
Overview
The Emergency Management Coordinator leads emergency preparedness and planning for Rice University. This role owns the emergency operations plan and assists the Office in drafting implementing revising all emergency plans. The ideal candidate will facilitate planning meetings manage training and evaluate preparedness exercises. They act as a leader during emergency operations center activations. This position reports directly to the Emergency Management Director.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and maintain emergency response and mass notification software templates rooms and operating procedures
- 2Develop and maintain contact lists and critical incident response documents web-based systems
- 3Assist in identifying planning teams coordinating meetings drafting plans
- 4Design and coordinate exercises develop after-action reviews and manage improvement items
- 5Serve on the Emergency Management Team assist in developing training for the Rice community
- 6Attend internal and external meetings for university-level collaboration and coordination
- 7Attend external meetings as directed to build regional EM partnerships
- 8Collaborate with incident response leads to present resolve and implement emergency management issues
- 9Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements5
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Bachelor’s Degree
- 3Two or more years of experience in disaster recovery independent leadership
- 4Strong verbal and written communication skills influencing management
- 5Ability to analyze and resolve problems under stress
