Overview

You will own delivery of standards-aligned core instruction in a co-teaching model alongside a Special Education Teacher, supporting students with Autism in a highly structured setting. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet each student's IEP goals, adapting instruction for in-person and virtual classrooms. You will collaborate daily with the Special Education Teacher to co-plan, co-instruct, and co-assess, ensuring access to the general curriculum. You will implement positive behavior support plans and supervise classroom support staff. What You'll Do11

  • 1Design and deliver standards-aligned instruction for all students, using differentiated strategies to address individual IEP goals across all content areas.
  • 2Collaborate daily with the Special Education Teacher to co-plan, co-instruct, and co-assess, ensuring grade-level access while supporting individualized learning needs.
  • 3Implement inclusive instructional practices that promote access, participation, and progress in the curriculum for students with Autism.
  • 4Integrate IEP goals, SDIs, and accommodations into daily lessons and activities.
  • 5Supervise teacher assistants, instructional assistants, and RBTs by providing direction on programming and data collection.
  • 6Communicate with parents in a timely manner through written, electronic, or telephone methods.
  • 7Implement Positive Behavior Support Plans under the guidance of the Behavior Director.
  • 8Provide direct instruction in whole group, small group, and one-to-one formats.
  • 9Assist with completion of Trimester Progress Reports three times per year, ensuring accurate data collection on all academic and behavioral goals.
  • 10Provide adaptive and self-help skill instruction based on individual IEP goals and SDIs.
  • 11Collaborate with related service providers to ensure skill generalization and effective use of assistive technology.

Requirements9

  • 1Pennsylvania Certification in PK-4 or K-6 (Public or Private School)
  • 2Valid Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 clearances dated within one year
  • 33+ years experience teaching elementary general education, with demonstrated use of co-teaching models
  • 4Proficiency in differentiating instruction for diverse learning needs in inclusive classrooms
  • 5Strong understanding of state standards and ability to align instruction accordingly
  • 6Ability to assess student progress toward IEP goals and objectives
  • 7Experience implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans preferred
  • 8Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
  • 9Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as squatting, kneeling, and climbing stairs
