What You'll Do6

  • 1Write and maintain IEPs for each student, setting measurable academic and social goals.
  • 2Adapt general education lessons to fit physical, cognitive, emotional, and learning disabilities.
  • 3Track academic and behavioral progress with regular assessments, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • 4Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists like speech and occupational therapists.
  • 5Foster a positive and inclusive classroom where students with diverse needs engage and grow.
  • 6Manage caseload documentation and compliance with state and district requirements.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 2Valid state teaching certificate with special education endorsement.
  • 3Autism certification preferred.
  • 41+ years experience with children with disabilities through internships, volunteer work, or teaching.
  • 5Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with students, parents, and staff.
  • 6Patience and compassion for students with behavioral or learning challenges.
  • 7Creative problem-solving to design individual learning solutions.
  • 8Organizational skills to juggle multiple IEPs, assessments, and classroom activities.
