Electrical Technician, Control Panel Wiring & Schematics
Overview
You will wire and build electrical control panels, junction boxes, and subassemblies for a leading manufacturing company in Franklin, MA. Working onsite with a temp-to-hire path, you'll join a team of technicians focused on precision assembly and quality. This role demands 2+ years of point-to-point wiring experience and mastery of schematics and electrical diagrams. You'll own the build process from panel layout to final installation, with opportunities to drive ECO improvements through red-line documentation.
What You'll Do8
- 1Wire and build electrical control panels, junction boxes, and subassemblies per customer requirements, using schematics and blueprints.
- 2Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and bills of material to execute precise assembly.
- 3Drill or tap holes to mount control units and create openings for components, wiring, or instruments, using hand tools.
- 4Complete point-to-point wiring and install electronic components including PLCs, relays, lights, and switches, ensuring functional accuracy.
- 5Red-line documentation to initiate ECOs through Engineering, driving design improvements.
- 6Perform operations such as deburring, grinding, and sawing to prepare components for assembly.
- 7Operate hand pallet jacks to move materials within the plant, supporting workflow efficiency.
- 8Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets, verifying proper fit and function.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of experience in control panel building, wiring, reading schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- 2Point-to-point wiring experience required, with proven ability to wire complex control panels.
- 3Mechanical installation and electrical wiring for control panels and desks, using hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
- 4Experience drilling and tapping holes to mount control units, using drills and taps.
- 5Understanding of electrical currents and safe wiring practices.
- 6High school education minimum; Technical Certificate in Electrical Controls desired.
- 7Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team environment.
- 8Willingness to work overtime as needed.
