Control Wiring Technician, Electrical Panels & Switchboards
Overview
You will wire control panels, switchgear, and switchboards for industrial electrical equipment in Garland, TX. You own the full build from reading wiring diagrams to final inspection. You join a team of technicians supporting high-demand production, with shifts at $20/hr (1st) and $22/hr (2nd). This role suits a technician with 3+ years in electrical assembly who works independently and maintains quality standards.
What You'll Do8
- 1Wire control panels, switchgear, switchboards, and ATSs from electrical drawings.
- 2Read wiring schematics and point-to-point diagrams to complete assignments independently.
- 3Assemble electrical switchboard equipment, including breakers, relays, contactors, transformers, and SPDs.
- 4Inspect and test finished products to meet specifications and codes.
- 5Build panels from start to finish: measure, drill, tap, and layout.
- 6Follow oral and written instructions to maintain quality standards.
- 7Communicate part shortages or problem areas to keep jobs on schedule.
- 8Support peers during high demand by working overtime as required.
Requirements7
- 13+ years in electrical equipment manufacturing and assembly, with panelboards or switchboards preferred.
- 2Experience reading wiring schematics and point-to-point diagrams.
- 3Experience wiring industrial control panels with UL508A preferred.
- 4Ability to build panels from start to finish, including measure, drill, tap, and layout.
- 5Comfortable with repetitive movement, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
- 6Ability to lift up to 50 pounds while bending, twisting, or standing.
- 7Wire from electrical drawings with breakers, relays, contactors, transformers, lights, and SPDs.
