Overview
Finezi seeks a Journey-Level Electrical Project Engineer to lead transmission engineering and design projects in Oakland. The role involves independent management of moderately complex assignments delivering results that align with engineering standards and safety requirements. This hybrid position combines office remote and field work with approximately 10–15% travel.
What You'll Do20
- 1Lead engineering and design activities for moderately complex transmission projects
- 2Independently plan and execute engineering assignments under general direction
- 3Perform engineering analyses calculate technical studies and conceptual designs
- 4Develop project scopes design criteria technical specifications and engineering reports
- 5Evaluate engineering alternatives and recommend appropriate solutions
- 6Coordinate with Project Managers engineers construction personnel contractors consultants and internal partners
- 7Participate in project planning scheduling resource coordination risk identification and execution
- 8Track engineering deliverables milestones schedules and project requirements
- 9Support project cost estimates budget tracking change management and contract administration
- 10Solicit prepare and evaluate proposals and contracts from engineering consultants
- 11Review consultant deliverables and contracts for technical compliance quality scope schedule and requirements
- 12Conduct field walkdowns site visits design review meetings and coordination meetings
- 13Present engineering findings recommendations project updates and technical solutions to internal teams contractors and vendors
- 14Review and approve engineering reports new drawings and revisions to existing drawings
- 15Interpret and apply applicable engineering codes regulations standards and company construction practices
- 16Develop restoration plans and participate in root cause analysis after facility or equipment failures
- 17Respond promptly to facility failures and emergency engineering requirements
- 18Provide technical guidance to contractors consultants and outside vendors
- 19Represent the company in meetings with government agencies and external stakeholders
- 20Perform associate-level engineering functions when required
Requirements14
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited U.S. curriculum or equivalent international degree
- 2Minimum 3 years of cumulative engineering and design experience
- 3Experience working on engineering projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- 4Strong analytical technical communication and project coordination skills
- 5Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- 6Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10–15% for field visits
- 7Local candidate able to work within the designated service territory
- 8Experience with electrical transmission line engineering for 115kV–500kV systems
- 9Strong knowledge of GO 95 NESC and transmission line engineering standards
- 10Familiarity with utility transmission line construction practices
- 11Experience with PLS-CADD PLS-POLE and related transmission engineering tools
- 12Experience managing engineering consultants contractors and vendors
- 13Background in project scheduling cost tracking risk management and project controls
- 14Previous experience working on large-scale utility transmission projects
