Transmission Project Manager - Substation & Utility Construction
Overview
You will own Transmission Line projects from cradle to grave, managing 5-10 concurrent builds across San Francisco. Coordinate internal utility teams, external contractors, and customers to drive each project to completion. Your 3+ years in Utility Construction and deep grasp of construction forecasts set you apart. This role demands a team player who asks sharp questions and keeps schedules on track.
What You'll Do8
- 1Drive Transmission Line projects end-to-end, from permitting to closeout.
- 2Coordinate with internal utility teams, external contractors, and customers on scope and timelines.
- 3Manage 5-10 projects simultaneously, tracking forecasts and schedules.
- 4Secure permits, easements, and right-of-way approvals for each project.
- 5Align construction forecasts with schedules to mitigate delays.
- 6Apply Utility standards to every phase of the construction lifecycle.
- 7Use MS Project or Primavera P6 to monitor progress and report status.
- 8Collaborate with substation teams when Substation work overlaps.
Requirements8
- 13-5+ years managing Electrical Transmission projects (senior roles require 10+ years).
- 2Proven track record in Large Scale Heavy Civil or Utility Construction.
- 3Hands-on experience with Utility standards, permits, easements, and right-of-way.
- 4Ability to juggle 5-10 projects without losing sight of details.
- 5Deep understanding of construction forecasts and how schedules interrelate.
- 6Solid grasp of the full construction lifecycle.
- 7Experience with SAP Unifier, MS Project, or Primavera P6.
- 8Bonus: Substation experience and Utilities Construction background.
Salary Insight
$160 - $225k per year
