What You'll Do9
- 1Own repairs and installation of wiring motors transformers generators lighting and other electrical systems
- 2Determine material costs ensure specifications and drawings are accurate review projects and plans
- 3Install repair and maintain motors transformers generators lights appliances circuits wiring and other components in compliance with codes
- 4Operate testing equipment locate and determine electrical malfunctions
- 5Study plans drawings specifications and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs
- 6Repair and maintain high voltage systems
- 7Train and supervise apprentices
- 8Troubleshoot test and repair emergency generators and power distribution systems
- 9Other duties as assigned
Requirements10
- 14–7 years work experience as an electrician
- 2Electrician apprenticeship
- 3License as a Journeyman or Electrician preferred
- 4High School Diploma required trade school classes preferred
- 5Knowledge of tools equipment and materials common to the electrical trade
- 6Understanding of applicable electrical codes standards and regulations
- 7Knowledge of high and low voltage electric systems
- 8Ability to work with a crew
- 9Proficiency in commercial construction industry products and tools
- 10Strong verbal and written communication skills
