You will lead commercial electrical installations across schools, offices, and retail sites in New York City, managing crews of 2-6 electricians. What You'll Do8
- 1Lead crews installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings.
- 2Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and one-line diagrams.
- 3Run conduit, pull wire, and install panels, breakers, and lighting systems.
- 4Troubleshoot electrical faults on 120V-480V systems and equipment.
- 5Enforce NEC compliance and job-site safety protocols across all tasks.
- 6Coordinate with general contractors, HVAC, and plumbing crews to sequence work.
- 7Mentor apprentices and helpers on conduit bending and termination techniques.
- 8Document daily progress, material use, and punch-list completion for project managers.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of commercial electrical experience in schools, offices, or retail.
- 23+ years of conduit bending for EMT and rigid systems.
- 3Proven ability to read blueprints, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
- 4Strong troubleshooting skills on motor controls and lighting systems.
- 5Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for commuting to sites.
- 6Own basic hand tools including multimeter, fish tape, and conduit bender.
- 7OSHA 30 certification preferred, but not required.
- 8Team player with a track record of mentoring apprentices in the field.
