Electrical Estimator, T&D Substation & Energy Infrastructure

You will own the estimating process for high-value electrical projects including utility infrastructure, substations, and renewable energy. Your estimates shape bid strategies and secure work for a growing electrical contractor. You will work with operations, engineering, and field leadership, using tools like Accubid and Bluebeam to deliver accurate, competitive bids. What You'll Do9
- 1Lead the estimating process from concept through bid submission for complex electrical projects.
- 2Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, GMP proposals, and competitive bid packages using Accubid.
- 3Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and owner requirements, using Bluebeam for markup and takeoffs.
- 4Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis, developing labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor estimates.
- 5Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, constructability concerns, and project risks, and present estimate reviews to executive leadership.
- 6Support bid strategy and pursuit planning, evaluating vendor quotations and tracking market trends for materials.
- 7Develop procurement strategies for major equipment and long-lead materials, assessing escalation risks and supply chain impacts.
- 8Partner with operations, project management, engineering, and field leadership to ensure estimate accuracy and project success.
- 9Mentor junior estimators, promoting best practices and process consistency across preconstruction and operations.
Requirements9
- 17+ years of electrical estimating experience.
- 2Strong understanding of electrical systems, labor productivity, and construction means and methods.
- 3Experience developing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for a contractor or subcontractor.
- 4Proficiency with Accubid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
- 5Experience with industrial, utility, infrastructure, substation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or mission-critical projects.
- 6Design-Build or Design-Assist experience.
- 7Primavera P6 experience.
- 8Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 9Field experience in electrical construction, project management, engineering, or supervision.
