Electrical Estimator, Commercial Construction (Hybrid)
Overview
You will own the estimating process for commercial and industrial electrical projects across the Southeast, delivering accurate bids from initial takeoff to final submission. What You'll Do10
- 1Build detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- 2Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope and requirements.
- 3Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and calculate labor and material needs.
- 4Solicit and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids.
- 5Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings to gather project details.
- 6Visit prospective clients and project sites to foster relationships and uncover new opportunities.
- 7Coordinate with project managers and field teams during the bidding process to align on execution.
- 8Maintain organized estimating records and bid documentation for future reference.
- 9Support project handoff meetings to ensure a smooth transition post-award.
- 10Track market pricing trends to keep bids competitive and profitable.
Requirements10
- 15-7+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial construction.
- 2Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, and construction practices.
- 3Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical drawings.
- 4Experience preparing complete project estimates from concept through bid submission.
- 5Solid understanding of labor units, material pricing, and project costing.
- 6Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for client and vendor interactions.
- 7Willingness to attend bid meetings, job walks, and client visits across the Charlotte region.
- 8Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- 9Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel.
- 10Preferred: experience with Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar estimating software.
