What You'll Do9
- 1Review construction drawings, electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications to develop precise estimates
- 2Prepare detailed cost proposals for electrical systems including materials labor equipment and subcontractor costs
- 3Must be proficient with the Accubid Estimating Software Program and know how to build their own assemblies within the program
- 4Conduct material cost estimating and analyze pricing trends to ensure competitive yet profitable proposals
- 5Collaborate with clients contractors suppliers and internal teams through negotiation to secure favorable terms and project scope clarity
- 6Manage project budgets by monitoring costs controlling expenses and implementing effective cost management strategies aligned with project goals
- 7Ensure all estimates comply with NEC National Electrical Code NFPA 70 standards electrical building codes and NFPA 70 compliance requirements
- 8Read and interpret electrical schematics and construction drawings accurately for precise estimation
- 9Support construction site teams by providing technical guidance on electrical systems and ensuring estimates align with on-site realities
Requirements11
- 1Proven experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry or related fields
- 22-5 years experience
- 3Strong knowledge of electrical systems blueprint reading electrical schematic interpretation and electrical building codes
- 4Proficiency with estimating software Accubid
- 5Familiarity with NEC National Electrical Code and NFPA 70 standards and compliance regulations
- 6Excellent negotiation skills for working with suppliers subcontractors and clients to achieve optimal pricing
- 7Ability to review construction drawings thoroughly and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- 8Strong understanding of construction management processes contracts and cost control techniques
- 9Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Word Excel Outlook for documentation and communication purposes
- 10Construction site experience is preferred to better understand on-the-ground project needs
- 11Effective client communication skills to present estimates clearly and negotiate terms confidently
