Electrical Estimator, Commercial & Industrial Projects
Overview
Own and drive bid estimation for commercial and industrial electrical construction at scale in a hands-on office role. Collaborate with the Senior Estimator, PMs, and a small team to produce accurate cost estimates and bid pricing from vendors and subs. Maintain and analyze cost data, prepare reports, and ensure alignment with customer, vendor, and subcontractor relationships. This role emphasizes attention to detail, data organization, and clear communication to support pre-construction hand-offs.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and maintain a prioritized bid-list with PMs and estimators to support timely bids
- 2Prepare estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specs, and related documents
- 3Identify labor, material, and time requirements and compute costs
- 4Communicate with trade partners on new and current projects
- 5Maintain cost data sources and connect to supplier databases
- 6Attend educational workshops to maintain technical knowledge
- 7Assemble and present prepared estimates using numerical and descriptive information
- 8Contribute to team by achieving related results as needed
Requirements7
- 13+ years of estimating experience on commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects
- 2Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office software
- 3Significant experience with electrical estimating software
- 4Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
- 5Strong understanding of construction processes
- 6Detail oriented with ability to review work from a high level
- 7Strong analytical and communication skills
