EEG Technologist Night Shift Orlando
Overview
Own EEG recording and patient preparation at AdventHealth Orlando, a large tertiary hospital. You will execute ACNS procedures and use the International 10-20 system to deliver high-quality recordings for physician interpretation. Work nights (6pm-6am) alongside a multidisciplinary team, ensuring patient safety and equipment readiness. This role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a $1,500 relocation bonus for eligible candidates.
What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare patients for EEG tests using the International 10-20 system and ensure proper hookup.
- 2Perform quality recordings by entering patient data, collecting history, and conducting exams per ACNS guidelines.
- 3Monitor EEG tracings, respond to abnormalities or seizure activity, and notify physicians or supervisors of changes.
- 4Maintain and troubleshoot EEG equipment, report issues via service tickets, and ensure supplies are stocked.
- 5Document and charge for procedures accurately to meet department quality standards.
- 6Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and keep supervisors informed of unfamiliar situations.
- 7Support quality improvement initiatives and propose process enhancements.
- 8Attend monthly staff meetings and record review sessions.
- 9Ensure patient safety and interact compassionately with patients and families.
Requirements10
- 11+ year experience in neurodiagnostics, OR completion of formal on-the-job training, OR 50% coursework completion, OR graduation from an accredited electroneurodiagnostics program.
- 2BLS certification (CPR) required.
- 3High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4Knowledge and practice of the 10-20 system.
- 5General knowledge of EEG procedures and equipment.
- 6Ability to observe EEG tracings and respond to abnormalities or seizure activity.
- 7Ability to recognize artifact and reapply or replace electrodes.
- 8Independent work capability with minimal supervision.
- 9Effective communication and excellent customer service skills.
- 10Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
