EE Systems Validation Engineer, Hardware Test & Automation
Overview
Own scalable electrical hardware validation and production test infrastructure from prototype bring-up through manufacturing ramp at a deep tech startup. Focus on board-level electrical characterization, power and signal integrity, system debug, automation, and bench-to-factory correlation. Work hands-on to convert ambiguous hardware behavior into clear measurements and actionable recommendations. Collaborate across hardware, firmware, validation, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust designs and repeatable test flows.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and execute board-level validation plans for PCBA prototypes and production-intent hardware, ensuring power integrity and SI targets are met
- 2Characterize electrical performance across voltage rails, loads, temperature, and operating modes to keep product requirements in sight
- 3Debug hardware issues with root-cause analysis and structured corrective actions to reduce anomaly rates
- 4Design and optimize manufacturing test flows including boundary scan, functional test, calibration, pass/fail criteria, and guard bands
- 5Automate electrical measurements and data collection using lab instrumentation and scripts to enable data-driven decisions
- 6Develop factory-facing test documentation, debug guides, and summaries to support mass production
- 7Collaborate with contract manufacturers and operations to improve test coverage, cycle time, and repeatability
- 8Build matrices, collect datasets, and analyze trends to drive yield improvements and correlate bench results with production data
- 9Provide feedback on DFM/DFT, test point access, fixture strategy, and hardware debug visibility
- 10Communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 25+ years in electrical engineering, hardware validation, product test, or manufacturing test engineering
- 3Strong fundamentals in PDN SI PI timing margins voltage regulation and high-speed digital buses
- 4Hands-on experience with high-bandwidth oscilloscopes logic analyzers protocol analyzers DMMs programmable supplies
- 5Experience with automated tests or lab scripts in Python or similar languages for data capture and repeatable tests
