Overview
Searchlight Pictures seeks a Director who will own high-impact studio events and talent initiatives in Los Angeles. This leader will align cross-functional teams to deliver strategic experiences supporting theatrical releases and awards campaigns. The role requires expertise in budget management, vendor coordination, and brand advocacy.
What You'll Do19
- 1Develop and execute event strategies that support marketing and awards campaigns across theatrical releases
- 2Oversee event planning and execution aligning with campaign goals and brand identity
- 3Lead marketing activations including pop-ups brand events and licensed events
- 4Collaborate with marketing publicity creative and field teams to ensure strategic alignment
- 5Own strategic planning and allocation of event budgets for cost-effective high production value
- 6Develop creative event concepts and communicate vision to external vendors
- 7Manage third-party production vendors through selection hiring and contract oversight
- 8Serve as advisor to VP and senior leadership on event strategy talent relations and brand activations
- 9Establish event metrics evaluate effectiveness and conduct post-event analysis
- 10Staff all studio events including internal assignments and agency supplementation
- 11Curate guest lists featuring celebrities influencers and press aligned with campaign goals
- 12Partner with Director Field Publicity on field activations junket setups and festival presence
- 13Lead studio presence at festivals overseeing ticketing creative execution and talent engagement
- 14Implement seating charts and coordinate logistics across venues
- 15Oversee capacity planning and ticket allocation for all events including executives and talent
- 16Develop & implement complex seating charts using deep industry knowledge
- 17Oversee security plans for all studio events and talent appearances
- 18Manage multiple events and timelines with strong project management skills
- 19Present ideas persuasively to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements11
- 1BA/BS degree in Marketing Communications Business or equivalent experience
- 210+ years event production or marketing within film entertainment or related industries
- 3Experience within a studio or entertainment brand preferred
- 4Strong relationship management and communication abilities
- 5Proficiency in project management for simultaneous multi-event operations
- 6High organizational adaptability and responsiveness to changing priorities
- 7Experience presenting to stakeholders at all levels
- 8Concrete experience with event budgeting and vendor negotiations
- 9Knowledge of entertainment industry relationships and politics
- 10Understanding of talent relations and gifting program administration
- 11Demonstrated success in hospitality and guest experience management

$168 - $237k per year
