Director of Warehouse Operations & Leadership, Large-Scale Fulfillment & Growth
Overview
The role leads a high-volume warehouse and distribution operation within the NYC metro area to scale leadership, systems, and processes. You will own strategic planning, financial performance, and scalable operating systems while building a strong leadership bench that sustains results with minimal executive intervention. This is a hands-off, organizational-building leadership position focused on durable improvements rather than day-to-day task management. You will collaborate with executives to drive profitability and customer service excellence through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do15
- 1Lead the warehouse organization through managers and supervisors to build ownership and accountability
- 2Coach and develop managers into decision makers who uphold performance standards
- 3Establish clear expectations and accountability across all levels
- 4Develop leadership succession plans to strengthen long-term capability
- 5Address performance issues promptly with decisive personnel decisions when necessary
- 6Own end-to-end warehouse performance across receiving, inventory control, storage, replenishment, fulfillment, shipping, and outbound logistics
- 7Improve inventory accuracy, throughput, labor productivity, and operational efficiency
- 8Remove bottlenecks through structured process improvements rather than reactive fixes
- 9Maintain an organized, disciplined warehouse environment focused on execution
- 10Develop structured operating plans and scalable processes to support growth
- 11Forecast labor, equipment, capacity, and inventory flow to meet demand
- 12Drive measurable financial improvements through operations and continuous improvement
- 13Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and data-driven decision making
- 14Build high-performing leadership teams and measurable scorecards
- 15Ensure safety, customer service, and on-time fulfillment excellence
Requirements10
- 1Executive leadership experience in large-scale warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or similarly complex environments
- 2Proven success leading multi-layer organizations through managers and supervisors
- 3Experience managing warehouse budgets, labor productivity, and operational financial performance
- 4Demonstrated ability to build high-performing leadership teams and scalable systems
- 5Strong planning, forecasting, and organizational development capabilities
- 6Experience implementing sustainable operational systems and accountability processes
- 7Strong analytical, financial, and operational decision-making skills
- 8Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership abilities
