Overview
St. Jude of the Lake Catholic Church seeks a talented Catholic musician to lead music ministry and support parish life. The Director will plan and lead music for liturgies, develop choir programs, and collaborate with clergy to foster worship.
What You'll Do11
- 1Plan and lead music for weekend Masses Holy Days funerals weddings and special liturgies
- 2Select liturgically appropriate music supporting congregational participation
- 3Lead music for Christmas Holy Week Easter and other major celebrations
- 4Direct parish choir rehearsals and coordinate cantors accompanists and musicians
- 5Develop children’s choirs and small ensembles and recruit volunteer musicians
- 6Maintain music library and coordinate instrument maintenance with parish staff
- 7Collaborate with pastor formation director and liturgy committee on sacramental music
- 8Prepare worship aids and maintain parish music resources
- 9Ensure compliance with liturgical traditions and sacramental requirements
- 10Manage weekend schedule including substitute coverage with advance notice
- 11Foster inclusive worship through music across diverse parish activities
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor degree in Music Sacred Music Liturgical Music or related field
- 2Three years experience in parish music ministry or similar setting
- 3Active practicing Catholic in good standing
- 4Proficiency with piano organ cantoring and music notation software
- 5Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- 6Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- 7Commitment to collaborative ministry within parish teams
