What You'll Do8

  • 1Build and mentor a dining team of 20+ staff, focusing on training and development to ensure service excellence.
  • 2Own daily operations across multiple foodservice locations, ensuring food quality, sanitation, and Customer Service standards are met.
  • 3Drive financial success by preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on food and labor costs, adjusting strategies to meet targets.
  • 4Ensure compliance with Health Department regulations and ServSafe standards, maintaining a safe environment.
  • 5Foster strong relationships with Barnard College stakeholders, aligning dining programs with campus objectives.
  • 6Implement food and catering trends, focusing on quality, production, and presentation to enhance the student experience.
  • 7Manage inventory and purchasing, optimizing food cost controls and reducing waste.
  • 8Coordinate with Compass Group resources to leverage best practices and innovation.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years of operational food service management experience, preferably in a college or university setting.
  • 2ServSafe certification required.
  • 3Associate degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 4Proven ability to supervise and develop staff, with strong leadership skills.
  • 5Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • 6Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
  • 7Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • 8Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and catering trends.
  • 9Validated customer service skills with a commitment to quality.
