The Director of Dining Services leads community food and beverage operations ensuring resident satisfaction and financial goals. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management to create exceptional guest experiences.
What You'll Do14
- 1Develop and implement overall operating strategy aligned with Compass Community Living's service approach
- 2Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure health regulation compliance
- 3Lead safety sanitation and maintenance programs
- 4Direct pre-meal briefings and staff meetings for effective communication
- 5Advise executives and supervisors through timely updates via multiple channels
- 6Manage budgets and operate accounts according to approved guidelines
- 7Analyze financial reports to improve departmental performance
- 8Build relationships with residents and community partners
- 9Improve service by understanding resident needs and introducing new offerings
- 10Regularly lead team meetings and foster positive work environment
- 11Coach and mentor team members to achieve full potential
- 12Cross-train staff and develop talent through behavioral interviews
- 13Hire and develop food & beverage leadership team
- 14Ensure fair treatment and equitable policies for all employees
Requirements10
- 1B.S. in Food Services Technology or related field with 5+ years direct management experience
- 2Strong knowledge of food trends focusing on quality and cost control
- 3Proven P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience
- 4Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
- 5Strong communication abilities across all levels
- 6Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based systems
- 7ServSafe certification required
- 8Experience with Compass Group services preferred
- 9Ability to handle remote or Washington State/Maryland positions
- 10Commitment to diversity and inclusion principles
