Own the financial reporting, investment accounting, and process improvements for a nonprofit foundation at scale. What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and present financial reports, variance analyses, dashboards, and schedules for leadership and board committees to inform decisions
  • 2Lead budget development, forecasting, financial modeling, and planning activities across the organization
  • 3Oversee investment and endowment accounting including reconciliations, gains and losses, income, and fee impacts
  • 4Coordinate with custodians, investment advisors, auditors, and consultants to resolve reporting and documentation matters
  • 5Assist staff with month end and year end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • 6Support audit schedules and Form 990 information preparation for compliance materials
  • 7Lead or support strategic finance initiatives and system improvements from planning through implementation
  • 8Identify opportunities to improve reporting, workflows, controls, documentation, and automation
  • 9Develop training materials and procedures to promote consistency across Finance
  • 10Partner with departments to answer financial questions, gather requirements, and propose practical solutions

Requirements9

  • 1Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 2Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting, finance, or financial analysis experience; nonprofit or fund accounting experience strongly preferred
  • 3CPA, CFA, MBA, or progress toward one preferred
  • 4Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards preferred
  • 5Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT or Blackbaud CRM preferred
  • 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain financial information to non finance stakeholders
  • 7Prior supervisory or project leadership experience preferred
  • 8Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead projects, and meet deadlines
  • 9Experience preparing audit schedules and Form 990 information or related compliance materials preferred
