Direct Support Professional, Residential Care
Overview
You will provide hands-on personal care, support daily routines, and build meaningful relationships with members in our residential homes. Working 30-40 hours per week across weekdays and weekends, you'll support male and female members with bathing, dressing, hygiene, and toileting at our Glendale locations. You'll document progress notes, prepare meals, and transport members to appointments using efficient routes. This role demands flexibility, physical capability, and a commitment to trauma-informed care. You'll manage behaviors using Prevention & Support techniques and uphold DDD licensing standards.
What You'll Do9
- 1Provide hands-on personal care including bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and toileting for both male and female members.
- 2Document daily progress notes and shift information in compliance with DDD standards.
- 3Plan and prepare meals, complete grocery shopping, and follow house schedules.
- 4Transport members to outings and appointments using efficient routes, including freeway driving when assigned.
- 5Build supportive and therapeutic relationships with members to enhance independence.
- 6Handle household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
- 7Administer medications as trained and authorized under Article 9 guidelines.
- 8Assist with admissions and discharges while redirecting and managing behaviors using Prevention & Support techniques.
- 9Support members in achieving daily routines and goals, and attend team meetings and required trainings.
Requirements10
- 118+ years old; 21+ years old to drive company vehicles.
- 2Weekday and weekend availability of 30-40 hours.
- 3Ability and willingness to provide personal care for both male and female members.
- 4Flexible availability for shifts.
- 5Reliable transportation and communication.
- 6Pass a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance background check.
- 7Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- 8Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Google Calendar, and Outlook.
- 9Complete required training: Prevention & Support, CPR, First Aid, Article 9.
- 10Pass skills assessment and medication administration assessment.
