Direct Support Professional, IDD Residential Care
Overview
You will own daily care and community integration for adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities at a residential group home in Norristown, PA. Shifts run 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm, Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday. You join a team backed by Delta-T Group, a nationwide referral service for behavioral healthcare and social services. What You'll Do8
- 1Assist residents with personal care and hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, in the group home setting.
- 2Support community participation by accompanying residents to activities, appointments, and errands.
- 3Prepare meals and assist with feeding, following dietary guidelines and individual care plans.
- 4Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- 5Document daily observations and incident reports using paper logs or electronic systems.
- 6Administer medication under supervision, following precise protocols and state regulations.
- 7Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care.
- 8Model positive behaviors and reinforce life skills for residents, promoting independence.
Requirements5
- 1Previous experience as a CNA, PCA, HHA, DSP, or similar caregiver role required.
- 2Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- 3Must pass drug test and criminal background checks.
- 4Available for 2-week orientation (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm) before starting.
- 5Attend regular training sessions as required by Delta-T Group and client facilities.
