What You'll Do8
- 1Implement the Individual Support Plan to guide each consumer toward personal goals.
- 2Mentor and coach individuals during community outings, such as trips to parks and sensory gardens.
- 3Assist with daily hygiene and personal care to enhance independence and dignity.
- 4Teach daily living skills including housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
- 5Encourage social interaction and communication through structured activities and casual conversation.
- 6Foster a sense of pride and achievement by celebrating milestones and progress.
- 7Document consumer progress and any incidents per Merakey's policies and state regulations.
- 8Collaborate with the care team to adjust support strategies based on observed needs.
Requirements5
- 1High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
- 2Experience in a home health aide or school setting working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- 3Must be at least 18 years old.
- 4Must possess a valid driver's license.
- 5Strong desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
