Direct Support Professional Peer Mentor, IDD Programs
Overview
Instruct and mentor staff and participants in the WE WITHOUT WALLS and WE Create programs. You will lead instructional sessions, both in-person and via telehealth, to teach independent life skills and social interaction. Collaborate with Direct Support Professionals to ensure they have the tools to engage participants. This role combines teaching, coaching, and program support in a supportive IDD/BH setting.
What You'll Do6
- 1Lead instructional sessions in-person and via telehealth, teaching independent life skills and social interaction.
- 2Coach Direct Support Professionals and staff, modeling best practices in participant engagement.
- 3Implement learning aids and strategies aligned with WE WITHOUT WALLS and WE Create frameworks.
- 4Complete all required clinical, administrative, and funder paperwork accurately and on time.
- 5Assist Service Coordinators with daily operations and participant progress monitoring.
- 6Facilitate virtual and telehealth learning activities using digital tools.
Requirements6
- 1High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional, Peer Mentor, or Instructor in IDD/BH settings.
- 3Strong instructional, active listening, and communication skills.
- 4Proficiency in facilitating virtual/telehealth activities and using digital learning tools.
- 5Demonstrated ability to mentor peers and build positive relationships.
- 6High attention to detail for timely documentation.
