What You'll Do10
- 1Assist individuals in maximizing their strengths and abilities, upholding personal rights, and providing emotional support to build positive relationships.
- 2Support people to meet personal goals that characterize quality of life, using person-first language and encouraging community connections.
- 3Ensure the overall supervision, protection, and care of individuals at all times, including implementing fire safety training and escalating signs of potential harm.
- 4Maintain health, wellness, and safety by providing appropriate supervision and managing crisis situations according to policies and regulations.
- 5Implement personalized service and behavior support plans, demonstrating OPWDD Core Competencies and using support skills for varying levels of need.
- 6Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, plus laundry, housekeeping, and meal planning with dietary considerations.
- 7Administer medication as prescribed, following guidelines and documenting in eMAR and Digital Agency.
- 8Collect, record, and summarize behavioral data, observing and reporting changes to the clinical team and following Behavior Support Plans written by a Behavior Intervention Specialist.
- 9Transport and escort individuals to appointments, recreational activities, and community outings, ensuring safety and access.
- 10Complete required trainings and certifications, maintain documentation, and participate in team meetings to ensure quality care.
Requirements9
- 1Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 2Ability to meet physical demands: frequent walking, sitting, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and assisting with lifting/moving individuals using mechanical lifts.
- 3Effective written and oral communication skills to document services and interact with team members and individuals.
- 4Enthusiasm for working with people with I/DD, with a positive, patient, and empathetic approach.
- 5Basic computer skills, including Workday, Digital Agency, and email.
- 6Must obtain and maintain SCIP-R certification within 1 year of appointment.
- 7Must obtain and maintain additional certifications as required (e.g., AMAP, CPR, Tube Feeding) within 1 year.
- 8Ability to work beyond scheduled hours, including holidays and emergencies, to maintain coverage.
- 9Valid Driver's License and Van certification for assignments requiring transport.
