Direct Support Professional DSP - I/DD Care
Overview
You will own daily care and skill-building for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities at a YAI group home in Yorktown Heights. You will implement OPWDD-aligned plans, administer AMAP medications, and document in DA and eMAR. You will join a high-energy team of DSPs and clinicians. What You'll Do10
- 1Build positive relationships and provide emotional support using person-first language
- 2Implement IPOPs, BSPs, and Life Plans to achieve personal goals
- 3Provide personal care and ADL support including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- 4Administer medications per AMAP guidelines and document in eMAR
- 5Plan and prepare balanced meals including modified diets and liquid consistencies
- 6Transport people to appointments and community outings using a YAI vehicle when assigned
- 7Collect and record behavioral data and report changes to clinical team
- 8Use EMOE teaching methods to develop life skills and encourage independence
- 9Respond to crisis using SCIP-R techniques including physical interventions when needed
- 10Complete required documentation and billing entries in DA within timeframes
Requirements8
- 118+ years age minimum
- 2SCIP-R certification obtained within 1 year of hire
- 3AMAP certification obtained within 1 year of hire
- 4Basic computer skills including Workday and DA
- 5Ability to lift and move 25+ pounds and perform physical interventions
- 6Valid Driver's License for van transport assignments
- 7High school diploma or equivalent
- 8Effective written and verbal communication skills
