Direct Support Professional, Brain Injury Rehabilitation & Day Program
Overview
Direct Support Professionals provide daily living assistance and supervision in a residential day program for adults with brain injuries. You’ll support personal care, therapies, and transportation to appointments and activities in a facility serving moderate to severe neurological conditions. What You'll Do10
- 1Build rapport with clients to promote independence and safety in daily living tasks and recreational activities
- 2Provide assistance with personal care, hygiene, and medication management as directed
- 3Support and document participation in therapies and activities to advance rehabilitation goals
- 4Drive and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and community outings ensuring safety and compliance
- 5Monitor and report behavioral and medical changes to the clinical team to inform care planning
- 6Support transportation logistics and ensure a clean, organized environment in the day program
- 7Assist with program activities and transitions to reduce disruption and promote engagement
- 8Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to tailor daily routines to individual goals
- 9Maintain accurate records of client participation and progress
- 10Foster a respectful, inclusive atmosphere that upholds organizational values and client dignity
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 2Must be at least 18 years old
- 3Valid driverlicense and responsible driving record
- 4Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- 5Diplomas from non U S educational institutions must include documentation demonstrating equivalence to U S requirements
- 6Experience or comfort working with medically complex and behaviorally challenged individuals
- 7Must be able to work in a residential day program setting in Jeannette PA
