What You'll Do15
- 1Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures safe handling guidelines state and federal requirements
- 2Assists with food preparation as assigned by supervisor
- 3Prepares food items according to standardized recipes ensuring safe handling
- 4Operates institutional food preparation equipment per manufacturer and supervisory direction
- 5Assists with set-up of the food tray line
- 6Assembles diet trays matching foods drinks condiments to diet cards
- 7Verifies each resident receives correct diet and tray
- 8Loads trays onto cart for delivery throughout facility
- 9Delivers tray carts to dining areas and resident units
- 10Carries individual trays to units when necessary
- 11Reports refusal of food to supervisor and charge nurse for alternate meal
- 12Cleans dishes utensils equipment according to procedures runs and maintains dish machine reports issues
- 13Prepares and delivers nourishment supplements snacks to units as scheduled
- 14Maintains food service equipment clean safe condition reports problems
- 15Keeps workspaces clean safe cleans equipment reports pest injuries communicates with supervisor assists certified dietary manager with inspections attends surveys interacts with surveyors performs other duties
Requirements5
- 1Minimum high school diploma or GED
- 2One year experience as food service aide in institutional setting preferred
- 3Ability to read diet cards portion guidelines sanitation procedures
- 4Computer skills required meets background checks
- 5Qualified through education or experience
