What You'll Do5
- 1Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, electrical, suspension, and tires on tractors and trailers
- 2Utilize TMT and TMW computer systems to create, track, and close work orders and record labor and parts
- 3Perform preventative maintenance and timely diagnostics to minimize downtime and ensure safety
- 4Move equipment within the yard and maintain a safe, organized work area following safety protocols
- 5Provide superior customer service to drivers and collaborate with leadership on improving shop efficiency
Requirements5
- 1High School Diploma or GED or completion of trade/technical school
- 2Substantial diesel technician experience or heavy duty military mechanic experience can satisfy trade school requirement
- 3Own roll-a-round storage and hand-tools
- 4Basic computer skills and ability to read repair manuals; good written communication
- 5Knowledge of EGR, emissions control, brake, and DC electrical systems; familiarity with Freightliner or Detroit engines a plus
