Diamond Sales Operations Specialist, Fine Jewelry & Studio Support
Overview
Own the day-to-day studio operations for a high-touch, on-site jewelry studio at Frank Darling in Chicago. You will manage client experience, inventory logistics, and shipments to keep the showroom running smoothly at a luxury brand scale. Work closely with the Gemology and Client Care teams to ensure accuracy, security, and delightful service. This role blends hospitality, inventory control, and operational coordination in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do12
- 1Greet clients and manage front-of-house flow to deliver a polished showroom experience
- 2Facilitate appointments and pick-ups for client rings and jewelry and assist with repairs and resizing
- 3Lightly assist walk-in clients and answer basic questions while showcasing sample rings
- 4Coordinate inbound communications via phone and studio inbox; support scheduling and reschedules
- 5Maintain showroom organization, packaging supplies, and general studio ambiance
- 6Prepare job envelopes for repairs, resizes, and remakes; oversee packaging and logistics
- 7Open and set up the studio each morning and manage diamond shipments with security protocols
- 8Liaise with Gemology and Client Care teams on shipments and inventory coordination
- 9Ensure accurate updates across internal systems for inventory, appointments, and shipments
- 10Flag discrepancies or delays and escalate to Studio Manager or HQ as needed
- 11Support end-of-day studio reset and readiness for the following day
- 12Collaborate with the Studio Manager on ad hoc operational tasks and facility coordination
Requirements9
- 11+ years of jewelry experience preferred
- 2Strong knowledge of fine jewelry styles and trends
- 3Comfort handling high-value inventory in detail-driven environments
- 4Technologically adept with ability to learn and manage multiple internal systems
- 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 6Keen eye for detail with empathy and professional judgment
- 7Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized
- 8Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when required
- 9Ability to read diamond laser inscriptions with a jeweler’s loupe
