Overview
Join us as a Dessert Shop Team Member for our exciting new store opening in Koreatown Los Angeles! Makkee Dessert (麦记牛奶) is a brand-new Chinese dessert café specializing in fresh milk-based desserts Cantonese-style sweet soups (tong sui) dessert bowls gelato and refreshing drinks — opening August 12th. Whether you`re greeting customers at the register or crafting our signature desserts behind the bar you`ll be part of a fun fast-paced opening crew. No experience needed for most roles — we provide paid training before opening day.
What You'll Do6
- 1Greet customers warmly take orders accurately and process transactions efficiently at the register
- 2Prepare milk-based desserts sweet soups dessert bowls gelato servings and drinks following our recipes and quality standards
- 3Assemble and present desserts with care for both dine-in and to-go orders
- 4Maintain a clean and organized workspace following food safety and sanitation standards throughout your shift
- 5Operate equipment safely including blenders refrigerators ice machines and dessert prep tools
- 6Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to keep operations running smoothly during busy periods
Requirements8
- 1Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- 2Mandarin/Chinese speaking strongly preferred — most of our customers and team communicate in Chinese; English or Spanish speakers also welcome
- 3Reliable punctual and positive attitude — this matters more to us than experience
- 4Ability to follow recipes accurately and keep product quality consistent
- 5Basic math skills for register transactions
- 6Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- 7California Food Handler Card preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
- 8Weekend and evening availability a plus
