Desktop Technician, IT Support & Networking - Philadelphia Contractor
Overview
Own end user device support and basic network infrastructure for a mid scale enterprise. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and network gear. You will assist with imaging, upgrades, and rack and stack activities in a collaborative team. This role is a long term contract that emphasizes security best practices and accurate documentation. You will contribute to ongoing reliability and service quality in a fast moving IT environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and resolve end user hardware, software, and connectivity issues to restore service with minimal disruption
- 2Install, configure, and deploy desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and network equipment including switches and wireless access points TCP/IP DHCP DNS
- 3Assist with imaging, hardware upgrades, and equipment replacements to maintain up to date inventory
- 4Support rack and stack activities, cable management, and network closet organization to improve physical infrastructure
- 5Monitor service requests and document issues and resolutions in the ticketing system to support accountability
- 6Perform basic Active Directory administration and user support to enable secure access
- 7Assist senior team members with network maintenance, system upgrades, and infrastructure projects to grow skills
- 8Support backup, recovery, and routine system maintenance activities to protect data integrity
- 9Follow security policies and maintain accurate documentation of configurations and support activities
- 10Stay current on networking fundamentals through ongoing training and development to ensure up to date practices
Requirements6
- 1Associate degree or technical diploma in IT, Networking, Computer Science, or related field
- 2Minimum of 2 years of networking, IT support, help desk, desktop support, or related technical experience
- 3Understanding of basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, switching, and wireless networking
- 4Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- 5Strong customer service and communication skills
- 6Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Salary Insight
$37 - $42k per year
