Design Supervisor, Interior Design & Flooring
Overview
You will own design team training, development, and sales growth at Floor and Decor, a leading specialty flooring retailer. You will manage a team of designers, drive revenue, and deliver exceptional customer experiences through design services. Collaborating with store leadership, you will oversee projects from inquiry to installation. Your success will come from building lasting relationships with residential and professional clients and leading your team to exceed goals.
What You'll Do9
- 1Hire, develop, and evaluate a high-performing design team, setting clear performance standards and coaching for growth.
- 2Build and maintain lasting relationships with homeowners, interior designers, and builders to drive repeat business and referrals.
- 3Manage the master design appointment calendar and schedule design consultations for walk-ins and scheduled clients.
- 4Design complete flooring solutions including tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects.
- 5Manage multiple simultaneous customer projects with accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication from start to finish.
- 6Use company tools like Salesforce, MyProject, James Martin, and HousPro to track projects and leads.
- 7Collaborate with store leadership and employees to align on project status, sales goals, and company initiatives.
- 8Maintain design center visual standards and stay current on emerging design trends in the local market.
- 9Participate in professional organizations such as ASID or NKBA to expand network and expertise.
Requirements8
- 1BA or AA in Interior Design, or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years.
- 23-5 years of leadership or management experience, including team development and performance reviews.
- 3Proven ability to sell floor covering products and services to both residential and commercial clients.
- 4Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to engage customers and team members.
- 5Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and design software like Salesforce and HousPro.
- 6Knowledge of hard surface flooring materials and installation methods.
- 7Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- 8For internal candidates: 12 months in a Sr. Designer or ADM role or higher.
