What You'll Do10

  • 1Efficiently learn modeling software currently in use at PACE, e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, WSPG, and others, on a project-by-project basis
  • 2Learn relevant agency guidance and analysis and design standards on a project-by-project basis
  • 3Gather, prepare, and organize data for analysis including watershed delineation, hydrologic parameters, design storm patterns, design rainfall, rainfall gauge data, and stream gauge data
  • 4Assist and perform watershed analysis, hydrologic modeling, hydraulic modeling, and floodplain analysis using industry software, proprietary software, and novel calculation
  • 5Research and learn new software packages as motivated by project and client needs, contributing to adoption within PACE
  • 6Work with Technical Director to troubleshoot complex design and analysis problems and computer models for multiple projects
  • 7Contribute to project report preparation and documentation
  • 8Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to present findings and obtain necessary approvals
  • 9Prioritize and manage multiple tasks while interfacing with all levels of employees, managers and officers
  • 10Solve problems independently and as part of a team

Requirements6

  • 1Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 2Master’s preferred
  • 3Strong technical foundation in hydrology and hydraulics
  • 4Physical demands include sitting, using hands, occasional standing and walking
  • 5Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision helpful
  • 6Occasional field work in uneven terrain requiring good balance
