Civil Water Resources Engineer Stantec

What You'll Do15
- 1Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for watershed riverine stormwater floodplain drainage projects
- 2Develop calibrate and apply HEC-RAS 1D and 2D HEC-HMS and other water resources models for planning permitting and flood risk evaluation
- 3Conduct engineering studies feasibility analyses and technical assessments
- 4Prepare technical memoranda engineering reports floodplain studies calculations specifications presentations and client deliverables
- 5Utilize GIS terrain data survey information and hydraulic modeling results to support project analyses
- 6Coordinate with engineers planners GIS specialists environmental scientists surveyors and team members
- 7Participate in field investigations site visits and data collection efforts
- 8Support project managers in scope development budgeting scheduling and resource planning
- 9Manage individual project tasks and workstreams including monitoring budgets schedules and deliverable progress
- 10Lead coordination efforts with clients regulatory agencies subcontractors and internal teams
- 11Facilitate project meetings document action items and track milestones
- 12Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and EITs
- 13Contribute to proposal development technical approaches level-of-effort estimates and business development activities
- 14Maintain high standards of technical quality innovation and client service
- 15Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements16
- 1Strong understanding of hydrology hydraulics watershed processes floodplain management and water resources engineering principles
- 2Experience developing and applying hydrologic and hydraulic models including HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS
- 3Proficiency with ArcGIS and geospatial analysis
- 4Experience working with LiDAR survey data terrain development and hydraulic model inputs
- 5Familiarity with FEMA USACE TWDB TxDOT county municipal and regulatory requirements
- 6Demonstrated project coordination and organizational skills managing multiple assignments
- 7Ability to communicate effectively with clients regulatory agencies stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
- 8Commitment to client satisfaction and high-quality work products
- 9Experience with Python automation or data analysis tools
- 10Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Water Resources Engineering Environmental Engineering or related field
- 11Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering preferred
- 12Professional Engineer license preferred
- 13Engineer-in-Training certification with ability to obtain PE licensure within one year
- 14Minimum of 3-6 years experience in hydrologic hydraulic stormwater floodplain watershed or related projects
- 15Valid driver's license preferred for site visits and field activities
- 16Typical office environment working at a desk with occasional field exposure
