Overview

You will provide chairside support for denture, dental implant, oral surgery, and prosthodontic procedures at a high-volume dental practice. You will work alongside experienced dentists and in-house lab professionals, serving hundreds of thousands of patients annually. This role offers specialized training in removable prosthetics and the chance to expand your clinical skills. You will directly impact patient confidence and quality of life through exceptional care.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Prepare operatories, instruments, equipment, and materials before each patient appointment.
  • 2Assist dentists during denture procedures, dental implant placement, oral surgery, extractions, and prosthetic treatments per state regulations.
  • 3Take and assist with alginate impressions, select impression trays, and prepare wax bites under dentist direction.
  • 4Assist with denture insertions, adjustments, relines, repairs, and other expanded duties where state law permits.
  • 5Educate patients on treatment plans, denture options, implant procedures, post-operative care, and home care instructions.
  • 6Obtain and document patient medical histories, treatment information, and clinical notes accurately.
  • 7Take dental radiographs (X-rays) per state certification requirements.
  • 8Maintain infection prevention and sterilization standards by cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments and operatories.
  • 9Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering clinical supplies.
  • 10Support daily office operations, including maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment.

Requirements8

  • 1High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2Dental Assistant and X-ray certification (where required by state).
  • 31+ year of dental assisting experience (preferred).
  • 4Experience assisting with dentures, removable prosthetics, or dental implants (preferred).
  • 5Experience taking denture impressions and wax bites (preferred).
  • 6Experience assisting with oral surgery and extractions (preferred).
  • 7Experience with prosthodontic procedures (preferred).
  • 8Familiarity with dental practice management software and electronic patient records (preferred).
